Bearle Eastling of Michigan:
"Wow, where to start. Team Minnie hunted hard & covered alot of ground. Dennis worked his but off trying to put the Michigan boy's on some animals. But the hunting gods did not shine on us this year. The blue bird weather on Saturday & Sunday made for some great hunting.
We are already planning our hunt for the 2009 IPC.
Team Minnie would like to give a shout out to all the volunteers who worked hard to put on a great hunt, thanks. Also Chef what can I say about the food you whipped up for Saturdays lunch, It was fantastic. Congrats to the winning teams, see ya all next year."
Tim Combs of SC Indiana
"Like some of the other teams, we didn't connect on any fur, but we should have if i would have let that dog come in another mile and a half before i let er rip! I guess my next purhcase will be a big 50 cal. BMG! I believe that all of the tread on my boots are now gone from all of the walking that the yodels had done, but im not complaining!
The guys that attended the 2008 Indiana Predator Challenge were a real great group of fellas, the new ones and the ones that keep coming back for more. Thanks to everyone that set it all up, helped out, and did everything right to make this such a GREAT event! AWESOME WEEKEND! Thanks again!"
Jason Brunner of SE Indiana
"Well team Regulator had a great time. We gave it everything we had to try and win but knew we were in big trouble when we couldnt knock anything down after the first check in. I think we were following team Savage and calling every spot where they'd already killed everything! Haha
Thanks to Jason and everyone involved with doin this hunt every year. and congrats to Team Savage for steppin it up and spankin us in the end. Also I want to thank everyone that comes and gives it there all every year. It is a very tough hunt to win with such great hunters that enter every year. Lookin forward to next year!"
Brent Bartley of Illinois
"I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that was involved in this years Indiana Predator Challenge. I had great time even though we came up empty and left shy of the finish. This was my first year at the IPC, I met alot of great people and had some of the best food I've ever had. We just couldnt put it together for a kill. The terrain is awsome and I'm already preparing for next year. Once again, thanks to everyone involved.......I had great time and will be back next year. Congrats to all who killed, shooting contest winner, and of course the IPC winners...thanks again."
Brook Fuller of Central Indiana
"Without a doubt, team KNINE had an unforgettable weekend. Navigating the area and rough terrain proved to be just as tough as the predator calling. Our single in the competition may have been the hardest earned coyote I've ever taken. It was definitely a challenge but getting the opportunity to call animals in some of the state's most impressive landscape was worth it. The group that showed up for the IPC was a heck of a bunch of guys. There was a good representation of every type of predator hunter. Everyone from the high tech guys with every piece of the latest equipment, to the backwoods hillbillys with an old bolt action and homemade shooting sticks.
Everyone was friendly and it just got better as the weekend went on. It's great to be associated with a bunch of diverse characters with one thing in common sharing stories and experiences. Around here it is rare to mention predator hunting without a full explanation of what you are doing and how it is done.
We found ourselves worn out and mentally exhausted on the trip home planning next year's strategy."
Shane Delmar of Ohio
"Man it sounds like you guys put on one heck of an event there at the IPC! I showed the hunt recap to some of my buddies and we are ready to ROLL for next years event! I doubt we can keep up with some of those fellas from previous hunts but we will sure give it a go- can't wait to try! Thanks for the opportunity and supporting predator calling in the midwest!"
Patrick Byrum of NE Indiana
"I just got back from the IPC and it was awesome. I can't say enough great stuff about it, from the people to the hunting. LOVED IT. I finished second in the rifle competition with the single shot but I was also the guy that missed the Yote at 40yrds. LOL! I'll be back next year either with the same team or a group of my own. I couldn't have asked for a better time. Thanks guys!"
Gayle Combs of Southern Indiana;
"Once again...THANK YOU Jason for the fine hunt. It was a pleasure to be part of the Challenge for the second straight year. Team Yodel had a really great time. Congrats from Team Yodel, to Team Savage and The Regulators. You guys have proven to be excellent predator hunters. To come to a different type of terrain, and take the fur that you called in, is remarkable...CONGRATS to all!"
Mike Hausz of Southern Indiana;
Although I didn't hunt, I still had a great time talking with all the hunters and other volunteers. This is a top notch bunch of guys. Anytime you have almost 60 guys in a competition and there is no bickering or trouble, it says a lot for the guys involved. Hope to see all of you again next year.
Jeremy Botranger of NE Indiana;
"The camaraderie was great with lots of laughs and great fun. The meal layout was excellent, and my hat is off to "The Chef" for a wonderful job. The rifle competition proved that a $300 single shot in the hands of someone who can shoot, will outshoot a $1500 custom repeater every day. The hunt in overall was first class, and even though the terrain was far from flat, it makes this competition one very level and fair playing field. A special thank you to all who helped make IPC 2008 a wonderful event and a great success!"
Seth Parker of NW Indiana
“Congratulations to all the competitors in this years hunt. This was truely one of the most enjoyable weekends I have had. I want to take this time to thank everyone that contributed to the success of this event. From the all the hunters to the organizers. Mike did a great job holding down the fort and Dave cooked an excellent meal. Thanks to the Conservation Officers that made their appearances and Ronnie for doing the photography.
As for the rifle shoot… I shot five times in the rifle shoot and missed every time, but that Savage shot 3 more times during that weekend, and gained us 5 points!! LOL! Thanks to all involved, we had a great time.”
Darren Chase of NW Indiana
“As always, Jason put on a great hunt!! Everything went very smooth, the food was good and the headquarters building was perfect for the cause. Based on the laughter and tall storiies that were floating around the headquarters, I think everyone had a great time, I know our team did. Sawmiller did a incredible job designing and laying out the rifle competition. Finding the targets in the woods proved to be tough enough, little lone hitting them.
Like the name says, it's definately a "Challenge", with a whole lot of excitement built in. Thanks to all those who donated prizes and food and to Jason and all those who helped him put this event on, it is truely a blast!!”
Aaron Allinger of SC Indiana
“The 2008 Indiana Predator Challenge was definitely a heck of an event. I really enjoyed myself. Great bunch of guys that attended! You could tell by the final check in Sunday that most everyone was wore plumb out. Lack of sleep and these hills here really took a toll on the hunters.
I am really pumped to enter this thing next year, if I ain’t hunting in it I will definitely make myself available to help out again.”
George Sierra of Kentucky;
Brutal wind and COLD weather made for a tough hunt, but that's the CHALLENGE! It was a good time and nice to put names to faces with guys I've chatted with on the Midwest Predator Hunters website. Congrats to Team Minnie, but watch your butt because I'm sure there will be several folks gunning for the win next year! Thanks Jason and all of the folks who helped put this together! See ya next year!
Jason Schmiesing of Northern Indiana;
Hey guys my team (The Howlers) and I had a great time. We hunted hard, slept little, and loved all of it. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you all next year.
Jeremy Newberry of Central Indiana;
I had a great time as well. It was great to meet a lot of the guys, wish there was more time for fellowship and story telling! Hunting was tough but I learned a little about hunting those dang hills. Next year will be better! Can't wait!
Scott Dean of Central Indiana;
It was very cold but it was fun, I'm glad I managed to get down there this year. I had a good time with my team and a good time finally meeting some of the guys from Midwest Predator Hunters.
Congrats to the teams that put down fur and congrats to all for a safe and enjoyable hunt.
I look forward to next year and hopefully I will get to see ya'll a little sooner then later!
Thanks to the staff for putting the event on!
Bearle Eastling of Michigan;
Howdy all, team Minnie made it home after a crazy drive. We had a great time & are counting the days until the next IPC outing. It was great putting faces with all the names from MPH. Thanks Jason for putting up with us. Whoever is lucky enough to hunt with JRB next year bring your hiking boots, this man loves to cover some ground! Hills = minnie mountains. It was a pleasure to meet all of you & call you friends!
Gayle Combs ;
My hat is off to the teams that were able to connect on fur this weekend. The high winds and brutal cold really made for a tough hunt. Despite the conditions, I think that everyone hunted hard and long. I know that at the last check in, there were lots of dragging feet and plenty of bags under the eyes. I enjoyed the company of the team that I was with, as well as the company of all that I met throughout the weekend. It was a very enjoyable time.
Brian Ferry of Central Indiana;
Man what a time, I met a lot of friendly people and really learned what hunting the thick stuff is all about. I went into this hunt not really knowing what to expect and came out of it a lot wiser and a lot colder and thanks to my partners a few pounds lighter!
Jason I don't know where you found the cook but I hope you can get him again for next year. The food was top notch and plenty of it. Jason you put on one top notch event and I am looking forward to next year. Again hats off to all you crazy/dedicated people who made the event a success.
Jason Brunner of Central Indiana;
Well our team Regulators had a great time. Even though we did get a flat at 7:00pm on Saturday night and didn't get to hunt from then on HAHAHA that's just our luck though.
We had a few packs howl at us at night but never seen any. Called in hawks on every day time set we made. I liked the shooting contest even though we didn't win it! Thought it looked a lot more challenging then before!!!
I would like to congratulate the 1st and 2nd place teams and all those teams who killed something. I'm just glad to see people get out in the freezing cold and do something crazy!!! Also would like to thank everyone who contributed to the hunt and put up with us Rednecks!!! My team will definitely be there next year if we have it!!! Thanks again guys!
Gary Gann of Illionis;
I just wanted to say that this was my first predator hunt and really the first time hunting that hard for coyotes. Results were awesome, I got my first coyote ever needless to say I'm hooked. Meeting everyone and putting a name with the faces was cool, listening to others and there strategies and the food was grade A good.
Shawn Thompson of Central, IN- “I just wanted to say that myself and all the other guys that came down from Crawfordsville had a blast. I know we’re already talking about coming back down to hunt again. And a special thanks to our guide Mert for everything he did to make the weekend great for us.”
Daniel Lowe of Southern, IN- “Man, it was an awesome weekend! The excitement was so think in the air you could cut it! Every team had high hopes of winning. Congratulations to the winners! Jason, you did a great job of putting this hunt together! Can't wait till next year!”
Chad Benge of Central, IN- “I hunted with Jason Bruce this year and we had a blast although there were a couple missed opportunities it couldn’t have gone better. We stayed with another guide Mert, who my brother hunted with, and we all had an exceptional time and cant wait to get back next year!”
Darren Chase of Northern, IN- “I had a blast at the 06 Challenge, and can't wait for next year. The food was good, weather was manageable and the Southern hospitality was great. My team had a blast the whole time and we were all sorry to see it end, even though we'd only slept 5-6 hrs total for 2 nights and 3 days. As it turned out, we slept to much though, 4.75 lbs to much!!! (Darren’s team placed second by a body weight judgment of 4.75 pounds). This hunt is a great time, even when the dogs are not cooperating. Spending time with friends both old and new is a great time.”
Mert Stroud of Southern, IN- “I had the pleasure of hunting with two of the finest fellows I have ever met. We started on Thursday setting up camp and telling hunting stories. On Friday we went to Rome to sign up for the hunt, by 1:30 p.m. we had a young coyote in the bag. We spent the next two and a half days trying to get number two with no luck. Our whole team was beat down tired by Sunday night. But when my teammates left to go back to the north part of the state it was a sad time that it had to end. We have already started making plans for next year. I feel that if you have never hunted in the I.P.C you have been missing the time of your life. There is no doubt that it can be made bigger but I don't see how anyone could make it more fun. If I had to give up all my hunts but one, It would be the I.P.C that would win without a doubt. It was a great chance to put faces with names, and enjoy the company of some very fine people as well as learn more about the sport. I would like to thank everyone for a great weekend, especially Jason Bruce for all the hard work and time he spent putting this hunt together. Let me know when I can sign up for 2007!”
Mike Hausz of Central, IN- “I wasn't able to participate in the hunt as I had wanted to because I had surgery a few days before the competition began. I did venture down on Sunday to see the guys and watch the final check-in and see who won. Seemed to me that all involved had a good time and several coyotes were harvested. I hope to be able to participate in the hunt next year. I still have a lot to learn and this is a great opportunity to rub elbows and hunt with some accomplished predator hunters. I haven't heard any negative comments from anyone involved. Hope next years hunt is even bigger and better.”
Scott Kramer of Northern, IN- “Jason you put together another great hunt man. We had a blast and I was really excited to see my new hunting buddy kill his first coyote during that competition! The prizes were great the food was awesome and the facilities were perfect for us. Thanks again for organizing this thing and we can’t wait for next year!”
Dennis Voyles of Northern, IN- “The Indiana Predator Challenge is a great hunt. I have had the pleasure of hunting in every event and this thing just continues to get better. It’s amazing how many people there are from all across this state and region that are just like us. They are ate up with predator calling and it’s a blast to hang out with them! I’m sure more people will be coming to the IPC next year but I’ll be sending my paperwork in really early to make sure I don’t miss out!”
Seth Parker of Northern, IN- “The 2006 Indiana Predator Challenge was somehow better than the 05 event. I didn’t think it was possible, but the food/weather/hunting and friends were even BETTER than before. I can’t wait to see what next year is like, I’m going to start training earlier so those kills don’t kill me next time! Thanks to our guide Dennis and all the people that helped put this thing together!”
