The World’s Most Challenging Predator Hunt

About

A sanctioned even of the National Predator Hunters Association, the Indiana Predator Challenge is an organized predator hunt that takes place in Southern Indiana each winter.   Teams of 3 or 4 hunters submit their registration paperwork each summer in hopes of participating in February’s three day event.

Planning for the first IPC event began in 2004 and the inaugural hunt was held in January of 2005.  This hunt gathered less than 30 hunters and the combined harvest was one coyote and one red fox.  In every way, the event has improved steadily each year since!  Higher registrations, better harvests, improved prizes and great food have made the Indiana Predator Challenge better year after year.

As popularity of predator hunting grew across the Midwest, so did the notoriety of the Indiana Predator Challenge.  In 2006 organizers set a cap on the number of participants entered to control crowd size and keep the event manageable by its volunteer staff.  Today the Indiana Predator Challenge draws sportsmen & sportswomen from all over the country, including those from California to Pennsylvania.  We’re proud to have gained the participation of female and youth participants due to our friendly family atmosphere.

In many ways the IPC is an event like no other.   The hunt allows all registered participants access to the same sprawling chunk of property, forbidding any distant honey-holes or secret hotspots.  The terrain and cover seen on these properties accounts for some of the most difficult predator calling in the country but an abundance of coyote and fox sure keep things interesting!   Teams of all experience levels come to the check-ins with stories of what “might’ve been” had they capitalized on numerous opportunities.

To accent the level playing-field provided in this event, we also offer some of the best perks you’ll find at any predator hunting function.   Each participant takes home great door prizes and enjoys a delicious meal with their friends.  One lucky hunter receives a prize from a random drawing, and the top scoring teams enjoy awesome prize packages each year.

Another popular aspect to the Indiana Predator Challenge is its ever-challenging rifle contest.  Each registered team nominates a shooter to tackle the difficult and unpredictable course of targets.  The best shooter of the afternoon receives 2 points for his team toward the weekend prizes while the 2nd place shooter also earns 1 valuable point.  This rifle contest is always a crowd pleaser and it certainly makes a big impact in the weekend’s outcome.

Along with the helpful & knowledgeable staff there to answer questions, various members of the law enforcement and natural resources community are supportive of this great event.   To add integrity to the results of our hunt, all prize winners are administered a polygraph examination before the awards ceremony.  If you’re looking for a fun, fair, safe and challenging hunting event then look no further than the Indiana Predator Challenge!
